William Howell |

William Howell was born about 1650 in Wales. He married Margaret Edwards in 1672 at Radnor Friends Meeting in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Margaret Howell (1673), William bought 500 acres in Pennsylvania from Lewis David of Llandewy, Wales. The land was part of a 3,000 acre tract which Lewis David had bought from William Penn, in 1681. The family came to Pennsylvania about 1682 and settled in Haverford Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. He was accepted by the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting that year. Margaret died on July 29, 1685. He married Mary Husband Thomas at Radnor Friends Meeting in Pennsylvania. Mary was born on October 21, 1661. She was the daughter of John and Joan Husband and widow the of Evan Thomas. Hannah Howell (1689, married Robert Roberts and Thomas Carleton) The Howell family moved to Cheltenham Township, then Philadelphia County, now Montgomery County. And they were members of the Abington Monthly Meeting.
William Howell wrote his will in December, 1709 and proved in Philadelphia in 1710.
